With our research in Air Quality, we increase the knowledge of air pollutions, also those that are not related to exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine. Air pollution causes premature deaths, while brake, tire and road particles from vehicles are still a relatively unexplored area.

Air pollution is a significant cause of premature death while brake, tire and road particles created by vehicles is still a fairly unexplored area. Within the air quality research area, we are trying to increase knowledge about both air pollution from vehicles as well as pollution that is not related to exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine. Being able to actively contribute with system knowledge and emissions measurement is critical in order to be able to determine, in cooperation with health medicine research, the causal relationships that the WHO has not yet determined. Within the area, collaborations take place with Sahlgrenska and GMV/GU, as well as with RISE.
