Lecturers and topics

A list of invited lecturers and their presentation topics can be found below. The lectures are primarily designed for PhD students and Master's students, but they are also highly relevant for Postdoctoral researchers and other academics.

Program highlights

There will be a poster session to which everyone is encouraged to present a poster. This is a valuable opportunity to share your research and engage with peers. In addition, there will be parallel journal club sessions, about selected papers authored by the lecturers.

Confirmed speakers (and lecture topics):

  • Maria Maffei, Universitá di Bari
"Light-Matter Interactions from a quantum optics perspective"
  • Gernot Schaller, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf
"Light-Matter Interactions from a quantum open systems perspective"
  • Thomas Agrenius, University of Innsbruck
"Bosonic nonclassical states preparation and applications"
  • Clàudia Climent, University of Barcelona
    "Photophysics and molecular polaritonics"
  • Bradley Hauer, University of Waterloo
    "Optomechanics experiments in nanoscale devices"
  • Juliette Mangeney, École Normale Supérieure
"Quantum dots in cavities - Experiments in the THz regime"
  • Ville Maisi, Lund University
"Quantum dots in cavities - Experiments in the microwave regime"

Academic credit

Full participation at the school is equivalent to 3 ECTS credits. To earn these credits, participants must:

  • Attend all lectures and exercise sessions.
  • Prepare and actively engage in at least one journal club discussion.
  • Present a poster during the poster session.

Practical information

There are no fees for participation at the school, but acceptance of your application is required to attend. Coffee and snack will be provided during breaks. Please note that accommodation and meals are not covered and must be arranged individually.

The school is limited to 45 participants. Preference will be given to students and early-career researchers who can attend the full program and present a poster.

If you need support for child care, please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. (Read about Chalmers family room.)
