Abstract

This thesis investigates test automation for the ship monitoring and control system (SCMS) in the SAAB-Kockums A26 submarine. The study suggests three methods of test automation for the SCMS. The first variant is converting conventional test specifications to automated execution by scripting in SAAB-Kockum’s in-house software application. The second variant is random testing of the SCMS according to the framework ‘falsification of cyber-physical systems’. The third variant is to implement full-scale falsification for the SCMS where simulation models exist. The study shows that all of the suggested methods for test automation are applicable. Moreover, in the study new additions to the falsification framework are proposed.
