The VINN Excellence Research Program 2007-2017

Between 2007–2017 Wingquist Laboratory was a VINN Excellence Centre. Wingquist Laboratory is today a well-established centre that has gone through a number of refinements after evaluations in the Vinnova VINN Excellence program.

Three Multi-disciplinary Themes

Research projects are based on new general scientific methods with the potential to drastically change the way the industrial partners do business in the future. To demonstrate the industrial potential of the different approaches, cases with today’s products from the collaborating industrial partners are used.

The change from organizing the research in five narrow projects as in earlier phase (Stage 2) to three broader themes was a way to open up for wider collaboration, enhance marketing of the centre and its results, and thereby improve the implementation of results in new companies and business areas. The themes are:

  • Platform-based Development
  • Smart Assembly
  • Perceived Quality

Results Stage 3

The strategy was successful since the output from the centre increased since Stage 2. The three research themes have generated:

  • 90 conference publications
  • 28 journal publications
  • 10 PhD/Lic Theses
  • 16 industrial implementations
