Sam’s research explores innovation processes within sustainable energy transitions. He is particularly focused on the role of energy users in innovation, and the extent to which these processes reinforce or can recast existing inequalities and power relations. Sam’s educational background at the University of York focused on the history of technology, social and political issues in development and global environmental crises. He previously worked as a climate policy analyst at the Grantham Research Institute, part of the London School of Economics, and also as a Manager in PwC’s climate change and sustainability advisory practice.
