Cristian Tunsu

Post Doc, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Chemistry and Industrial Materials Recycling

Cristian’s competence area is analytical and separation chemistry with direct applications in waste streams and environmental decontamination, as well as processing of secondary sources to recover valuable constituents. Cristian has conducted research on phytoremediation techniques, decontamination of fluorescent lamp waste and recovery and separation of the contained rare earth elements, and novel electrochemical routes for removal of heavy metal ions from aqueous streams. His current research deals with finding environmentally friendly and efficient methods for extraction of critical metals from secondary sources.
