Thomas Allgurén works with chemistry related to co-combustion of coal and biomass in air and oxy-fuel combustion. The focus is on the alkali related chemistry and how it is affected by the change in flue gas composition going from air to oxy-fuel combustion. The chemistry is studied performing both detailed modelling work and experiments. The experimental part is carried out using the Chalmers 100 kW combustion unit. Thomas also teaches in the course Heat and power systems engineering as part of the Sustainable energy systems master program.
