Alexander Thesleff

PhD Student, Electrical Engineering

Alexander is a PhD student within the Bionics Research Unit. His research is in the field of advanced bionic limbs for individuals with lower limb amputation. The focus of his research is on the development of a human-machine interface which is directly integrated with the skeleton, the nerves and the muscles of the human body. This allows the user to intuitively control the robotic leg by signals registered form activation of muscles in the residual limb. Sensory feedback is also possible through stimulation of peripheral nerves.
