Tae-Hyun Kim researches on the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) as a Post-doc in Prof. Anders Palmqvist group. He focuses on the fabrication and CFD modeling of membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA) to optimize the microstructure and achieve high fuel-cell performance. Also, he investigates on platinum-group-metal-free (PGM-free) catalysts to alleviate Pt usage. The goal is to obtain high PEMFC performance while reducing/eliminating the PGM catalysts, thereby reducing the production cost and utilizing it as an eco-friendly energy source.
