Sofia Serholt

Postdoc, Interaction Design division, Computer Science and Engineering.

Sofia Serholt is postdoctoral fellow at the division of Interaction Design within the Department Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers. She holds a Master of Education in English and ICT, as well as a PhD in Applied Information Technology towards Educational Science acquired at the Department of Applied IT, University of Gothenburg in 2017 with her thesis titled Child–Robot Interaction in Education. Her research interests surround child–robot interaction primarily in educational settings, ethics, the social desirability of technology, and how the design and implementation of technologies impact social practices.

Between the years 2013 and 2016 she was involved in the EU FP7 ICT-317923 project EMOTE: Embodied perceptive tutors for empathy based learning (www.emote-project.eu), where her role concerned the user-centered design and evaluation of an empathic robotic tutor for education. Currently, she is active in the EU ENSUF-693443 project PLACED: Place- and activity-centric dynamic library services (www.placedproject.eu), focusing on the participatory design and evaluation of digital services for libraries.
