Ralf Jänicke

Associate Professor at the division of Material and Computational Mechanics, Department of Industrial and Materials Science

Ralf Jänicke is Associate Professor for Structural Mechanics at the Department of Applied Mechanics. He focuses his research on the computational homogenization and order reduction of multiphasic materials with applications in Geo- and Engineering Sciences. He is particularly interested in the mechanical modeling based on real data acquired from X-Ray or FIB Computed Tomography. The goal is to understand the interaction between the microscopic processes and the overall material behavior. Since 2015 he is Junior Fellow of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts.
