Malin became a Ph.D student at the department of production systems at Chalmers University of Technology in 2014. She received her M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Lund University in 2012, with a major in logistics and production economics. Her research is focusing on providing industrial and workshop operators with the right information and decision support tools.

The aim of her research is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of production flows, regarding logistic solutions, production planning and also production complexity.
