Mairon G. Bastos Lima

Mairon works on the policy and governance dimensions of sustainable production, particularly in relation to agriculture and tropical forest conservation. He has done extensive research on landscape approaches, REDD+, sustainable food systems, and green value chains for a bioeconomy.
As a postdoctoral researcher, he works with the TRASE platform on sustainability policies for beef and soy supply chains from South America, including on issues of certification, jurisdictional approaches, and leakage. The aim is to have lessons for better policy design as well as a finer understanding of agent-structure dynamics in critical ecosystems such as the Amazon and the Cerrado.
