PhD student

Lina Lindahl joined the Industrial Biology group as PhD student in February 2012. Her research focus on understanding how to engineer the cell membrane lipid composition in order to reduce membrane permeability, using the permeation rate of weak acids as an example. The final goal of the project is to metabolically engineer a recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain with increased tolerance to acetic acid, a problematic inhibitor in lignocellulosic streams.
