Postdoc at the division of Design & Human Factors, Department of Industrial and Materials Science

Gheysa Prado research focus on design and material culture, social innovation and sustainable urban mobility through sustainable behaviour, especially cycling, looking for how it can be encouraged and how can cities embrace cycling. She has been teaching in Design Bachelor Programmes in Brazil since 2008, has previous experience with product and service design, and had worked with different projects regarding sustainable behaviour, social sustainability, collaborative design and design activism. The goal is to contribute to a more sustainable mobility, expanding and consolidating active mobility as an important share of modal transport in the cities.
​Gheysa Prado has a permanent lecturer position at Universidade Federal do Paraná (Federal University of Paraná) in Curitiba, Brazil, where she works since 2017, teaching in the Product Design Bachelor Programme, and at Master and PhD levels since 2021. Regarding research activities at UFPR, she has an ongoing project called ‘Design strategies to promote active urban mobility’ that aims to collect and identify design methods and tools used to encourage active urban mobility especially through cycling and walking, which includes also the part played by street or urban furniture.​
