Dinis Soares Reis de Oliveira

Post doc

Dinis is a Post doc researcher at Maritime Environmental Sciences working with energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of shipping through improved maintenance of underwater surfaces of merchant ships. The aim is to demonstrate sustainable antifouling and other fouling control solutions designed to avoid deterioration in fuel performance due to marine growth on hulls and propellers. Inefficient hulls and propellers are currently responsible for about 10% of shipping emissions to the atmosphere. Results and tools are developed for shipping operators and governmental authorities.
