Tom Coleman

Postdoc

Tom Coleman joined the Division of Industrial Biotechnology in November 2020 on a postdoctoral researcher. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Adelaide in 2018 and spent 2 years as a postdoctoral researcher at Rice University. His current project at Chalmers aims to find and characterise the enzymes which degrade the diverse types of chemical bonds connecting various polymers in lignocellulosic materials, which are complex and random structures. These enzymes may be members of new families, and may be usable in a biorefinery setting to valorise lignocellulose.
