Christoffer Olsson

PhD Student, Condensed Matter Physics, Department of Physics

PhD student under the supervision of professor Jan Swenson since March 2014. Currently I am working on a project on cryopreservation of proteins. More specifically I am studying how the disaccharide trehalose effect the stability of proteins when subjected to subzero temperatures. Experimental techniques for this project includes neutron diffraction, dielectric spectroscopy, DSC, TGA, and viscosimetry.
I have a bachelors in physics and a masters in applied physics. For my masters thesis I worked on high temperature superconducting SQUIDs which was used for a magnetoencephalography (MEG) setup.
