Omar Moussa works at the Department of Mechanics and Maritime Sciences. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Division of Combustion and Propulsion Systems, he focuses his research on the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). He specifically works on the characterization of the Urea spray injected within the exhaust gases of a diesel engine, using optical laser-based methods. The overall objective of the project is to increase the efficiency of SCR systems and therefore reduce the emissions of one the most harmful pollutant: the nitrogen oxides (NOx).
