Charilaos Xiros


Charis Xiros obtained his PhD on the evaluation of the enzymatic and microbial system of filamentous fungi for the bioconversion of agro-industrial by-products from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2009. From December 2009 until July 2011 he worked as a post doc researcher in the european research project “HYPE” (NTUA). His research includes: Bioconversion of agro-industrial residues, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, filamentous fungi, fermentation inhibitors, evolutionary engineering, lignocellulolytic enzymes such as cellulases, endoxylanases, arabinofuranosidases. He has been recruited as a postdoc scientist in Industrial Biotechnology group at Chalmers since October 2011.
