About the course

Methods for functional group transformations. Retrosynthetic analysis. Synthetic strategies, including atom efficiency and environmental/health aspects. Protecting groups. Reactivity and selectivity of different reagents and functional groups. Modern methods for the formation of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds.

Application information
A basic course in organic chemistry is a prerequisite, and a more advanced course such as KBT036 (Advanced Organic Chemistry) at Chalmers is recommended before taking this course.
