About the course

Course content:
  • Molecular structure: topologies, stereochemistry, strain and stability.
  • Molecular electronic structure: models of bonding, orbital theories and stereoelectronic effects.
  • Acid-base chemistry.
  • Kinetic analyses and molecular thermodynamics: energy surfaces, reactive intermediates, transition states and free energy relationships.
  • Experimental methods in mechanistic analysis.
  • Reaction mechanisms: polar reactions, radical, reactions and pericyclic reactions.
  • Other topics out of interest of attending students.
