Beyond his academic work, Professor Fredberg serves as an advisor to companies and executive teams on innovation and transformation, and he is a frequent speaker at corporate events. From 2014 to 2021, he was a regular columnist for Göteborgs-Posten.Executives often identify organizational change and complexity as their most pressing challenges, particularly in contexts characterized by fast, asymmetric, and unsynchronized change processes. Fredberg investigates how organizations can effectively navigate such challenges, with particular attention to the dynamics created by digitalization. Together with his colleagues, he researches and consults on how organizational renewal can be achieved most successfully. A central focus of his work is to understand practices that translate high levels of commitment and engagement into sustainable performance.Fredberg works closely with top management teams to test and explore new organizational processes and solutions aimed at improving performance across multiple dimensions. A core premise of his research is that organizations benefit from striving toward a higher ambition—a broader sense of the value they can create with their stakeholders. For such renewal processes to succeed, they must build trust and engagement among stakeholders.
