Marie Palmnäs

Marie Palmnäs is the project manager of a European collaboration effort by the DiGuMet Consortium (JPI-INTIMIC). Her research focuses on the interaction between the diet and the gut microbiota. The aim is to characterize high-risk profiles for common metabolic diseases, using metabolite biomarkers, and to identify the type of dietary fiber that benefit these groups of individuals. Ultimately, this could lead to evidence-based and personalized dietary recommendations that will lead to effective and sustainable health improvements preventing metabolic disease.
