AM@Chalmers is a research infrastructure focused on metal and multi-material additive manufacturing, offering advanced 3D printing technologies for resource-efficient production and sustainable material innovation.
Through AM@Chalmers, the aim is to accelerate development and implementation of sustainable
additive manufacturing by enabling:
- Development of novel materials using in-situ synthesis and specific material
processing conditions, characteristic for AM - Increasing sustainability of powder-based metal AM through improved powder reuse and
recycling - High-resolution metal and multi-material metal/ceramic AM
- Rapid battery development through multi-material AM
- Advanced materials characterization supporting material and process development for AM
- Future material and process development for applications in biomedical engineering, electronics, sensors, structural components, electromagnetic systems, and energy technologies
WISE Additive
AM@Chalmers is a host for WISE Additive, a national research infrastructure funded by the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE). WISE additive consist of three nodes located at Chalmers University of Technology, Uppsala university, and Linköping university.
