This specialisation is about applying industrial ecology perspectives directly to highly technical industries, helping reimagine how critical systems can function in a more sustainable way. This might mean analysing materials usage in battery production, or lifecycle assessment of wind turbine construction, for example.
Courses cover industrial symbiosis, circular economy strategies, sustainable product development, and the flows of resources and materials within essential industries. This could lead to positions working with sustainable product development, industrial research and design, or sustainability advising in the public sector.
