This specialisation develops advanced expertise in geotechnics, foundation engineering, and underground building projects, with a strong focus on operating in complex ground conditions.

You will study soil behaviour, soil-structure interaction, foundations and ground improvement techniques. Sustainability is also an important theme, including resource-efficient foundation solutions and climate adaptation work.

The specialisation prepares you for roles in geotechnical engineering, infrastructure development, foundation design and construction underground. These skills are increasingly important for development in the challenging context of crowded, modern cities with ageing infrastructure.
