The focus is on understanding security algebraically and formally. What does it mean for a protocol to be provably secure? How does the choice of programming language affect vulnerability? And how can formal methods be applied directly to security problems? If you wish to explore both sides of the security question, you may also combine courses with electives from Chalmers’ Computing Systems programme as well to address these issues.
