Brief description

In this seminar, Helena and Tamara will share their research and experiences related to transversal skills development at EPFL. In 2022, EPFL leadership decided to give more prominence to transversal skills based on previous in-house research. In order to bring it to life, the existing Career Centre was transformed into Transversal Skills and Career Center (CCTC) and part of the new mission was to create a strategy for transversal skills. Thus, the goal of CCTC is to promote the value of transversal skills and in that spirit, the work around developing a comprehensive and coherent strategy is a transversal co-constructive journey too. 

The session will present the strategic direction for transversal skills, including the plans related to synchronising the curricular and extracurricular offer, the range of skills and the plans to make a stakeholder-owned framework and long-term steps to engage and give power and responsibility to the key stakeholders, such as students.
