Abstract

This seminar aims to provide insights into the various career opportunities that lie outside of independent academic research. Our guest speakers from Astra Zeneca will share their experiences and individual journeys while describing best practices for getting a job in the industry.

Marie Kalm works as the project lead for toxicology and eCVRM. She has a background within pharmacology, neuroscience, and oncology at Sahlgrenska Academy where she has been leading a research group.

Fredrik Karlsson is the Director and team leader of bioinformaticians for oligonucleotide and CRISPR design and analysis in Discovery Sciences at AstraZeneca. He has a background in biotechnology from Chalmers and a PhD in systems biology and worked in a biotech startup before joining AstraZeneca.

Target group

PhD students and other researchers at Chalmers, Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, and the Sahlgrenska University Hospital working with health and engineering.


Cost

The seminar is arranged by the Gothenburg Research School of Health Engineering and is free of charge.
