Pedagogical seminar at Mathematical Sciences

Abstract: I argue that in order for our students to one day become productive and competent engineers and applied mathematicians when they're working in industry, they need other mathematical skills than the skill of being able to solve standard problems posed to them by others, eg on exams. I suggest how we as teachers can help our students further develop these abilities.
