Abstract: I will discuss how to construct global bounds for the Bergman kernel form on a polarised Riemann surface whose Ricci form fulfils certain bounds. The Main Part of the talk will concern the lower bound which follows from an Ohsawa-Takegoshi estimate associated to deformations to the normal bundle constructed in joint work with Yan He and Xu Wang. Time permitting, I will also discuss briefly how one can construct upper bounds and how one may find bounds for the Bergman kernel under stronger constraints on the Ricci form.
