Inaugural lecture Adjunct Professor in Mathematical Statistics

Abstract: An overview will be provided of several research areas in which statistics and machine learning methods are applied to problems in pharmaceutics and materials science: (i) surrogate models for extended drug release, (ii) mass transport in porous materials, (iii) X-ray scattering data analysis, and (iv) electron diffraction for 2D materials. This lecture is a review of research activities at AstraZeneca and collaborations with the Department of Mathematical Sciences, past, present, and future.
