Abstract: The rank problem for the Cuntz semigroup of a C*-algebra asks whether functions over the tracial states can be written as a rank. It is known that the rank problem has a positive solution for pure C*-algebras, in particular for Jiang-Su-stable C*-algebras. However, a positive answer can be given for a much larger class of C*-algebras. In this talk I will show some sufficient conditions under which the rank problem has a positive answer.
