Abstract: We talk about the Kato square root problem for weighted parabolic equations and the main motivations behind it. The Kato square root problem is one of the major tools for investigating the well-posedness of the boundary value problems (Dirichlet and Neumann) for elliptic and parabolic PDEs. In the talk, we bring up the methods, some recent developments, and open problems in the area.
