Abstract: Motivated by a recent result on finite-dimensional Hilbert spaces by Carlen, Frank, and Larson we prove a Jensen's inequality for partial traces in semifinite von Neumann algebras. In this talk I will discuss the proof and a similar Jensen's inequality for operator convex functions in non-tracial setting.
