Abstract: In the talk, I will review the theory of limiting Hodge structures and its applications in the study of degenerations of Kähler manifolds. Specifically, I will compute the Hodge-Deligne diamond of limiting Hodge structures for a very concrete example: the degeneration of the Hodge structures of the family that arises as the mirror dual family to the general intersection of two cubics. Additionally, I will present the applications of these computations to Mirror Symmetry.
