Abstract: Classical modular forms often have striking connections between their Fourier coefficients and other areas of mathematics. For instance, theta functions are tied to representation numbers of positive definite quadratic forms. More exotic examples arise from indefinite quadratic forms and link to topology and geometry. In this talk, I will discuss new results producing non-holomorphic Siegel modular forms of genus 2 related to arithmetic hyperbolic 3-manifolds.
Pre-seminar: 10:00–10:30 – Håvard Damm-Johnsen
The pre-seminar is a new, informal introduction aimed especially at PhD students and postdocs without prior knowledge to the main talk, but anyone is welcome to attend. It’s a soft preparation for the main seminar.
We’ll go for lunch together after the main seminar – everyone welcome!
