Abstract: I will discuss ongoing work with H. Darmon about singular moduli for real quadratic fields, and how the analytic part of the work of Gross-Zagier on analytic families of Eisenstein series can be fruitfully transposed to a p-adic context, if it is complemented by considerations of p-adic Galois deformations.
