Clock and carrier synchronisation for optical and wireless communications

Abstract: 
This talk will cover two parts of our work. The first part focuses on clock synchronisation using clock phase caching, targeting applications for optically-switched intra-data centre interconnection. Following, we extend the reach of clock phase caching and demonstrate synchronous clock and RF carriers using a frequency comb for wireless communications covering sub-6GHz to mm-wave bands. Finally, I will show our recent work on generating tuneable (5-170GHz) ultra-low noise mm-wave signals using optical harmonic phase lock loops.
