Title Designing Nanoparticle-based Materials: From Sparks to Multifunctional Materials

Overview

The event has passed

Abstract: Nanoparticle-based materials have the potential to alter applications in magnetics and catalysis. To fully realize the potential of nanoparticles in such applications requires deterministic control over nanoparticles’ size, morphology, chemical composition, and crystal structure and a deep understanding of how these properties influence the magnetic and catalytic performance of nanoparticle-based materials. Spark ablation is a method that can generate nanoparticles with high control of particle properties at low costs and in a safe and environmentally friendly way. I will present the work done by my group in the area of nanoparticle-based materials by spark ablation.
