Title: FROM SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICES TO MICROWAVE TECHNIQUES FOR LIFE SCIENCES

Abstract: In this lecture, I will present the two topics that have fueled my scientific curiosity for more than a decade. On the one hand, I will speak of high electron mobility transistors optimized for the lowest noise and how the integration of III-V semiconductors with silicon substrates can solve some of the current limitations of high frequency electronics. On the other hand, I will discuss how the microwave techniques developed for high frequency electronics can be of use in life sciences, a fascinating new research field full of opportunities and challenges.
