Abstract: Quantum computers promise to harness the power of quantum mechanics to solve problems that are nowadays intractable. Superconducting circuits are now a mature technology and a strong candidate platform for building such a machine. The interest in this technology is demonstrated by well-known tech companies that are investing heavily to pioneer the quantum era.
In this lecture, I will provide an overview of the building blocks of a superconducting circuits-based quantum computer and discuss the pioneering work that is ongoing at MC2 for building a large-scale quantum processor. Along the way, I will be highlighting key results, discussing the main challenges we have overcome, and offering insights into our future work.
