Aviation remains one of the most challenging sectors to decarbonize, yet it is essential to global connectivity and economic development. In this lecture, we will cover how emerging technologies can contribute to minimize the climate impact of aviation, focusing on both near-term innovations and long-term systemic shifts. The presentation will cover advancements in aircraft design, propulsion systems and their integration.
About Carlos Xisto
Carlos Xisto is an associate professor at the division of fluid dynamics, dep. of mechanics and maritime sciences. His main research focus revolves around the development of radical propulsion concepts for aerospace, with special interest in heat-transfer, aerodynamics and hydrogen powered aviation. Carlos is also the coordinator of the Horizon Europe MINIMAL project, that investigates new ultra-efficient composite cycle aero-engine technology.
