Phase changes at the cloud edge.

Cloud edges are important regions of the atmosphere where most air inside the cloud mixes with dry air of the free environment. Turbulence drives this mixing process and enhances/suppresses the condensation and evaporation of water droplets and ice crystals inside the cloud. This lecture will present several numerical techniques to measure the size distribution of water particles at the cloud edge subjected to phase changes. These results can be used by climatologists and atmospheric physicists to improve the current models of radiation feedback.
