Brief description

LearnT is a research and innovation center at DTU Compute. It is placed together with strong research environments within statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, internet of things and software development. In LearnT, researchers work with learning analytics, educational data mining, learning design, learning theories, playful learning and ethics, as these areas are highly relevant to understand learning and develop effective, motivational and fun learning technology. LearnT and DTU Compute’s technological starting point enables students not only to design and improve concepts but also to create future learning technology based on their technical knowledge and ability. Dr. Khalid will provide a broad overview of the center’s current projects, highlighting how digital learning technologies can be leveraged to create meaningful educational experiences. In the seminar, participants will gain a bird’s-eye view of LearnT’s innovative methodologies and future directions, discovering how cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary partnerships can help shape the next generation of digital learning solutions.

About the presenter

Md. Saifuddin Khalid is an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) with expertise in digital learning technologies, user experience, and human-centered design. Leading the LearnT – Centre for Digital Learning Technology, Dr. Khalid teaches courses in digital learning and statistics, mentors Ph.D. students, and supervises projects in adaptive learning, e-learning, and innovation in education and workplace training technologies. His research spans diverse areas, including evaluating EdTech platforms, integrating generative AI, adaptive technologies, and enhancing usability in digital education and training. With extensive academic experience in Denmark and a commitment to bridging digital divides, Dr. Khalid actively contributes to interdisciplinary R&D projects, funded by Erasmus+, Novo Nordisk, and Innovation Fund Denmark. He has an established record of publications in educational technology and human-computer interaction, aiming to foster inclusive, impactful digital solutions for education and training.
