Solar energy harvesting has been steadily increasing its share in electricity production, and the International Energy Agency and the EU have an ambitious goal to grow it rapidly. Since photovoltaic (PV) technologies are the backbone of solar energy harvesting, the raw material supply for the industry and their waste management are the challenges to reaching the intended targets. In the seminar we will address current challenges and opportunities relating to material demand and circularity of the PV industry from technological and socio-economic perspectives and highlight the required actions.
