Title of the talk: Innovation, Design, Manufacturing and Industry X.0

Abstract:
Starting with a brief look at the evolving landscape of manufacturing, the talk will focus on the importance of innovation in manufacturing and economic growth, and the significance of design as the engine for success in innovation. The talk then delves into the role of Industry X.0, and the recent trends in the world of manufacturing. Finally the talk brings these two strands of discussion (on design and on manufacturing) together, and proposes an integrated digital framework that is needed to support seamless, development and delivery of complex advanced systems that have quality, affordability, and sustainability. The talk demonstrates some of the work along the proposed directions that are already taking at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India.
