Abstract: In this talk, I will take you on a journey to Antarctica, where the IceCube Neutrino Observatory is located to detect high-energy neutrinos from the cosmos. These are produced in the interactions of cosmic rays with gas or photon fields in the cosmos. In my research, I spend a lot of time calculating how and where these neutrinos are created and how they can be detected with IceCube. Most recently, we announced the detection of the Milky Way in Neutrinos with IceCube and I will discuss how we got there. I will explain why this is a fascinating topic and what brought me to joining the efforts finding the sources of high-energy neutrinos. I will also discuss my personal journey which currently brought me to Chalmers as a Jubilee professor.
