Glänta in the foyer: Consciousness

One’s own consciousness seems self-evident, but how do we know that others are conscious? It has proved notoriously difficult to investigate what consciousness actually is and how it arises. Nor is it clear how it should be studied, from the outside or from within? Through experience or brain activity? This evening offers surgery, philosophy and magic, with the aim of coming a little closer to these mysterious consciousnesses.

Micro-lectures by neurosurgeon Rickard L Sjöberg and philosopher Melina Tsapos, as well as a magic show by magician Isidor Olsbjörk, followed by a joint panel discussion moderated by historian of science and Glänta editor Julia Ravanis.
